There are no words strong enough to explain my dismay over the slaughter at Sandy Hook on Friday.
I'm sorting my thoughts.
Yup. We do need to talk. Gun violence in the US is unacceptable.
I feel nothing but contempt for the NRA. Again they've gone silent in the face of a gun driven rampage. Four in under a year. And they stay silent while mere mortals wrestle for answers and they work with their attorneys and lobbyists to figure out their strategy and spin the story to their benefit. William Bennett and Louie Gohmert say the answer is MORE guns. Guns in the schools. Now. Guns in schools? Who do they think they're fooling anyway?
Oh. Meet The Press invited 31 pro-gun folks from the Senate and lobbys to be on the show and not a one of them showed. Not a one of them had the courage of their convictions and was prepared to defend those convictions in the wake of 20 dead children, ages 6 and 7, and 7 adults from their 20s to their 50s.
Sorting things. Making sense of the incomprehensible.
What will it take to make these people in the gun industry see the terrorism being visited on us daily, by ones and twos. By threes, fours, and fives. By the tens and more. How many more children, teens and adults must be butchered?
