I've known about the songwriting team of Ashford and Simpson since 'Ain't No Mountain' spilled from Diana Ross' throat like a river of want whose dam has finally burst. Anyway, heard that Mr. Ashford passed away from throat cancer today. My condolences to Mrs. Ashford nee Simpson, and their daughters. Thanks for the music!
